BetUS (pronounced Bet U.S.) Sportsbook is the original online sportsbook, with nearly 30 years serving sports fans across the United States and across the globe. Who better to provide some last-minute insights into tonight’s big game?
As of Monday morning, UConn are favored by 7½ points at BetUS.com.
According to data released by BetUS this morning, a clear majority of betting tickets on the point spread have been bet on UConn (66.54%) and an even more incredible 70% of the total dollar volume bet on the spread have been bet in favor of UConn covering.
BetUS customers are also expecting a high-scoring game for this season’s finale, with more than 72% of betting tickets on the total (or “over/under”) and more than 66% of the total dollar volume being bet on the ‘over’ 132 ½ total points.
Gary Segars, a senior betting analyst with BetUS, has analyzed this matchup and believes that UConn's strong defense could be the key to their victory. "UConn has been one of the best defensive teams in the tournament, and if they can shut down San Diego State's offense, they should have no problem covering the point spread," says Segar. “Of course, the sportsbooks are hoping for the opposite outcome.”
With so much of the betting action coming down on the side of UConn, oddsmakers will no doubt be scrambling to try to attract some more action on the side of SDSU as we get even closer to tip-off. “That means the line could continue to move,” Segars says. As it stands, a UConn win could be a hefty loss for the sportsbook, Segars says.
In addition to traditional betting options, BetUS also offers unique prop bets. For example, bettors can wager on how many points San Diego’s Lamont Butler will score (over or under 8 ½ points) or Connecticut's Nahiem Alleyne (over or under 6 1/2 points); and which player will have the most rebounds (San Deigo’s Micah Parrish or Connecticut's Andre Jackson), just to name a couple of the more than 60 betting options available.
