Christmas Day used to be all about the NBA. The NFL said not so fast and now has horned in on the holiday with games. The teams that will be playing on Christmas know they have to do it up and the NFL Christmas Halftime Show in 2024 when the Baltimore Ravens play the Houston Texans is a super-duper star.
There are two games scheduled for the NFL on Christmas Day. The highlight Christmas Halftime Show – on a Wednesday, no less – that has been announced will be at the Ravens-Texans game. The Texans have arranged for Beyonce to perform at halftime of the game.
If Netflix thought it had challenges with the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul streaming boxing match, imagine how many people will be trying to tune in and watch Beyonce perform on Christmas at the Texans game.
The Ravens-Texans game is the second game of a Christmas doubleheader. The first contest will pit the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. There had not been a halftime performer announced for that contest as of this writing.
The best way to wager on NFL Christmas games is to go to BetUS or similar online sites and look for odds on the Christmas Day games. In 2024, there are two games with the Kansas City Chiefs at the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens at the Houston Texans. Both games will have playoff position implications that late in the season and you will find plenty of NFL holiday betting odds.
As the games approach, there will be numerous ways to place bets on them. BetUS will offer different lines – straight wagering, against the spread for example. There will also be props on how players will do in the contest.
With the halftime shows featuring acts like Beyonce in Houston, look for there to be plenty of novelty prop options on the game.
Are there special prop bets related to the halftime show?
BetUS is up and running with a novelty prop bet for Beyond’s first song on the NFL Christmas halftime show in Houston.
The NFL season has been stretched now that there are 17 games in a season. In 1971, there was a playoff game on Christmas if you can believe it.
The Kansas City Chiefs played host to the Miami Dolphins and Ed Podolak of KC had one of the best postseason games in NFL history.
The Dolphins won 27-24 on a Garo Yepremian field goal in the sixth quarter – double overtime. However, Podolak’s effort is remembered as iconic. He ran for 86 yards, caught passes for 110, and had three kickoff returns for 153 yards.
"Finally, I think in the sixth quarter, I looked at (Dolphins linebacker) Nick Buoniconti after we'd run into each other for about the 30th time that day, and I said, 'Do you think this thing will ever be over?'" the 68-year-old Podolak told FOX Sports in 2015 by phone from Costa Rica. "At that point, it was almost like sleepwalking. You were playing on pure adrenaline."
In another Chiefs game on Christmas, Travis Kelce had 11 catches for 116 yards as KC walloped the Broncos. And, no Taylor Swift was not at the game in 2016. The Chiefs won 33-10 on that Christmas Day.
On that same day, Ben Roethlisberger threw a TD pass to Antonio Brown late in the game and the Steelers beat the Ravens, 31-27. That game must have gone over big time in the betting markets.
The Cowboys clobbered the Cardinals, 37-13, on Christmas Day in 1995 and if you had Kevin Williams with over 200 yards in NFL Christmas Day betting, you cashed. Williams went off for 203 yards on the ground.
Christmas is about family, friends, fun, and sports. In 2024, there will be two NFL games and you can get in on the Christmas Day betting fun by wagering at BetUS sportsbook.
