Pompano Beach, FL - A 42-year-old Pompano Beach man hit the jackpot from the comfort of home with an incredible 6-game parlay win in both MLB and NBA games on April 12th. He risked just $200 and came out victorious, taking home a whopping $18,865.01. BetUS Sportsbook shared details of the big win on Monday, but the online sportsbook said that it does not release customers’ names or other personally identifiable information.
A parlay is a single bet that combines multiple individual bets, in this case, six different games. To win a parlay, all individual bets must be winners. The payout increases exponentially as the number of bets combined in the parlay goes up, making this type of wager high-risk but potentially high-reward.
On April 12th, and with all games occurring that same day, the 42-year-old started off placing three money line bets, meaning he bet on each of those teams to win outright against their opponents. In the NBA, he backed the Chicago Bulls, who triumphed over the Toronto Raptors with a close 109-105 victory. In MLB action, he supported the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees. The Rays emerged victorious over the Boston Red Sox, 9-7, while the Yankees narrowly defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 3-2.
The bettor also placed two other bets in the NBA. He chose the underdog Oklahoma City Thunder against the New Orleans Pelicans. Despite the odds, the Thunders managed to secure a win with a 123-118 score, beating the point spread of +5.5.
Lastly, the lucky man bet on the New York Mets in the MLB using the run line (-1.5). In this type of wager, the chosen team must win by a specific number of runs, in this case, two or more. The Mets did not disappoint, besting the San Diego Padres 5-2, and securing the final leg of the man's successful parlay.
The Pompano Beach resident's astute betting choices paid off handsomely with a nearly $19,000 payout from just a $200 investment.
