The 2022 People’s Choice Awards winning ceremony is less than a week away, and the public is excited about the special night where the best in Film, TV, Music and Popular Culture will be recognized and honored by the fans themselves. The award show be hosted by actor and comedian for the second consecutive year and will air simultaneously on NBC and E! on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m. ET from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.
Online gambling firm, BetUS.com (pronounced Bet U.S.) says that the annual award show is one of the more popular ones amongst customers who enjoy betting on entertainment and award shows. “Each year we see growth in this betting category. People really get into it, and in particular with the People’s Choice Awards, they get a chance to participate,” says Barry Barger, senior betting analyst with BetUS.
The sportsbook currently offers 2022 People’s Choice Awards betting odds and special “proposition” wagers in Best Show and major Film categories, as well as Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Motion Picture Comedy, Best Motion Picture Drama, and Best Movie, to name a few.
The movie Nope has the most Film nominations with seven. The Adam Project, Bullet Train, and the top-selling movie of 2022, Top gun: Maverick, have five nominations each.
Veteran Tom Cruise is expected to win this category. He is currently 4/7. Seemingly far behind but still second on the list is Miles Teller, also from Top Gun: Maverick (2/1).
Elizabeth Olsen in Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness is listed at 5/6 odds for the Best Actress of the Year, meaning a $100 bet would return a total of $183.33 (the bettor’s $100 stake is returned along with $83.33 in net winnings). Keke Palmer (5/2) in Nope also has her chance to win the award.
Top Gun: Maverick (2/5) has been a complete 2022 Box Office smash. Elvis (15/4) is the story of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley played by Austin Butler, and the complicated relationship he maintains with his enigmatic manager Col. Tom Parker, played by Tom Hanks. Elvis may be more touching, but Maverick has the numbers.
