Quarterback Mark Willis is currently favored by a large margin to be drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2022 NFL Draft this week, according to the latest odds posted by the oddsmakers at BetUS.com.

“Our oddsmakers, and our customers are betting heavily that Mark Willis is headed to the Steelers,” said Tim Williams, Director of Media Relations for BetUS.  “The Steelers odds of snagging Willis are currently at +125, with the Saints (+275) and the Panthers (+400) a distant second and third to land the quarterback from Liberty.

Malik Willis is a tick taller than 6-feet and 219 pounds. He spent two years at Auburn before becoming a star and top NFL prospect at Liberty. Willis threw for better than 2,800 yards last year and rushed for almost 900 yards and 13 touchdowns. One red flag could be the 12 picks he threw in his redshirt senior season. The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the market for their next franchise quarterback with Ben Roethlisberger retiring. Willis would give the Steelers an exciting dimension they didn't have with Big Ben. Mitchell Trubisky is not the long-term answer in Pittsburgh. The biggest question is whether Willis will be around when the Steelers pick at 20. His name has been mentioned as high as sixth for Carolina. And there are a lot of choices between 6 and 20. Would Pittsburgh trade up, and if it does, would Willis be worth the cost?” Williams says.
